Description

This is the fourth edition of an excellent resource for trainees and practicing urologists that provides a one-stop shop for all things laparoscopic and robotic urologic surgery.

Purpose

The authors masterfully deliver a surgical atlas for laparoscopic and robotic urologic procedures. The book is thorough yet reader friendly. Excellent figures and intraoperative pictures make it easy to visualize the surgical steps and help prepare readers to perform the specific surgeries.

Audience

This book is a must-have resource for any budding or practicing urologist who performs minimally invasive surgery.

Features

The book is neatly organized in four sections. The first section reviews important but often overlooked basic details such as available instruments, robotic systems, as well how to safely gain access. The second section focuses on the upper urinary tract including extirpative as well as reconstructive procedures. The third section focuses on lower tract minimally invasive surgery and the fourth section covers some unique applications of minimally invasive surgery for the genitalia.

Assessment

This surgical atlas will continue to serve as the go-to resource for urologists preparing for minimally invasive urologic surgical procedures.
