This well-focused, 600-page book provides a comprehensive, in-depth look at problems of the rotator cuff and biceps tendon. This is a unique offering in that most books on the shoulder cover the broad spectrum of shoulder problems, which may lead to some dilution of the material.

Purpose

The goal was to assemble in a single book the most pertinent principles, pathologies, and methods for the care of injuries and problems of the rotator cuff and biceps tendon. These are worthy objectives. The book is thorough, and the accompanying website enables easy access.

Audience

It will be valuable to any clinician who works with patients with shoulder problems, but it will be particularly valuable for orthopedic surgeons, shoulder and sports medicine fellows, and orthopedic residents in training.

Even the most experienced shoulder surgeons will find up-to-date pearls from some of the world’s key leaders.

Features

The book covers the gamut of shoulder cuff problems. It begins by establishing fundamental principles and anatomy and continues through nonoperative treatment and classic open and arthroscopic treatments to more advanced and complex solutions for revisions and end-stage arthropathy.

Assessment

This is a wonderful book targeting cuff and biceps tendon issues from the key thought leaders and leading technical experts in the field. Drs. Provencher, Romeo, Cole, and Boileau have brought together an impressive group of contributors who have done a marvelous job of providing a comprehensive book targeting all facets of rotator cuff and biceps tendon problems.
