Bruce A. White, PhD received his PhD in Physiology and Endocrinology from University of California, Berkeley in 1980, and postdoctoral training at the Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, NY in molecular endocrinology. Dr. White is currently a Professor of Cell Biology at the University of Connecticut Health Center in Farmington, CT. Dr. White teaches extensively in the 1st year Medical and Dental classes, with topics including metabolism, endocrinology and male and female reproduction, as well as Histology of the GI, endocrine and reproductive systems, and the Gross Anatomy of the thorax, abdomen and pelvis. Dr. White’s research involves the study of microRNA function in breast and endometrial cancer. This research also encompasses the study of epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) and metabolic reprogramming during EMT.

Dr. White is co-author of Endocrine and Reproductive Physiology, 4th Edition, and the author of the 7 chapters that comprise Section 8 (Endocrine and Reproductive Systems) in Berne & Levy Physiology, Updated Edition, 6th Edition, (Koeppen, BM, Stanton, BA, eds).
