H. Randolph Bailey, MD is a sought-after speaker and medical author and is known throughout the U.S. for the quality of his patient care and his leadership in the treatment of colorectal disease. His extensive experience includes serving as Clinical Professor at the University of Texas Medical School and Clinical Professor of Surgery at the Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Bailey is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and is currently Clinical Professor of Surgery for the University of Texas Medical School at Houston. He is also Chief of the Division of Colon and Rectal Surgery and Deputy Chief of the Department of Surgery at Houston’s Methodist Hospital. Dr. Bailey’s work at Methodist Hospital’s Center for Restorative Pelvic Medicine focuses on the areas of fecal incontinence, rectal (pelvic) prolapse, complex anal fistula/rectovaginal fistula, pelvic endometriosis involving large and/or small bowel, colon and rectal cancer, and hemorrhoids and anal fissures.

Dr. Bailey is the author of Colorectal Surgery. He has been included on Woodword/White’s “The Best Doctors in America” directory for well over a decade, and was also recognized as one of “The 318 Top Cancer Specialists for Women” by Good Housekeeping magazine. A past president of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons, Dr. Bailey has served on many medical committees and boards, including the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery and the American College of Surgeons.
