Linda C. Giudice, MD, PhD, MSc is Distinguished Professor and Chair, The Robert B. Jaffe, MD Endowed Professor in the Reproductive Sciences Department at the University of California, San Francisco. She is a co-author of Endocrinology, 7th Edition and Women’s Health Review.

Dr. Giudice earned a PhD in biochemistry at UCLA and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Rockefeller University, working under Nobel Laureate, Gunter Blobel. She earned a medical degree at Stanford University and completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Stanford and Washington University in St. Louis as well as a fellowship in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at Stanford. She served as director of the reproductive endocrinology and infertility division at Stanford before joining UCSF in 2005. Dr. Giudice is president-elect of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine and a member of the Institute of Medicine of the National Academy of Sciences.

An esteemed biochemist, gynecologist, and reproductive endocrinologist, Dr. Giudice’s research focuses on environmental impacts on reproductive health, steroid hormone signaling in human endometrium, endometrial-placental interactions, endometrium as a mucosal tissue, and translational applications of human embryonic and endometrial stem cells. Her clinical interests are endometriosis, infertility, assisted reproduction, and implantation and ovulatory disorders. She is director of the Center for Research on Origins and Biological Consequences of Human Infertility and the UCSF Women’s Reproductive Health Research Career Development Center.

Dr. Guidice has served as president of the Society for Gynecologic Investigation, and has won many awards, including the Academia Nazionale dei Lincei Arnaldo Bruno International Prize form the Italian Academy of Sciences; the American Medical Women’s Association Woman in Science Award; the SGI Distinguished Scientist Award; the American Fertility Society Illuminations Award; the American Society for Reproductive Medicine Distinguished Researcher Award; and the Journal of Women’s Health Award for Outstanding Achievement in Women’s Health Research.
