Esteemed Elsevier author, Meir Kryger, MD, FRCP, is a Professor of Pulmonary Medicine and Clinical Professor of Nursing at the Yale School of Medicine.

Dr. Kryger is a trailblazer in the field of sleep medicine. He established the first clinical laboratory for studying patients with sleep disorders and was the first person to diagnose obstructive sleep apnea.

Dr. Kryger wrote the first ever textbook on sleep medicine, Principles and Practice of Sleep Medicine, who’s 7th edition is scheduled to publish in May 2021. He is also the author of Sleep and Breathing Disorders, Atlas of Clinical Sleep Medicine and Kryger’s Sleep Medicine Review and has published more than 200 research articles and book chapters.

Dr. Kryger is a past president of the Canadian Sleep Society and the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. He is currently on the Board of Directors of the National Sleep Foundation. He is a recipient of the William C. Dement Award for Academic Achievement from the American Academy of Sleep Medicine and the Distinguished Scientist Award from the Canadian Sleep Society. He will be presented the 2019 American Thoracic Society Distinguished Achievement Award at the ATS International Conference in May.
