Thomas P. Naidich, MD is Professor of Radiology and Neurosurgery, Director of Neuroradiology, Irving and Dorothy Regenstreif Research Professor of Neuroscience (Neuroimaging), and director of the neuroradiology fellowship training program at Mt. Sinai Medical Center in New York. Dr. Naidich is a co-author of Imaging of the Spine and Imaging of the Brainboth of which are volumes in the Expert Radiology series, as well as Problem Solving in Neuroradiology.

Dr. Naidich graduated from New York University School of Medicine in New York after which he trained in radiology at the Montefiore Hospital in the Bronx, and in neuroradiology at both Montefiore Hospital and New York University.

Dr. Naidich’s research interests have centered on the imaging display of neuroanatomy and gross pathology.  Having published extensively, Dr. Naidich has held many editorial positions and presently is on the editorial board of Neuroradiology.

For his work, Dr. Naidich has been awarded the Cornelius Dyke Award for outstanding research from the American Society of Neuroradiology; the John Caffey Award for original research, the Gold Medal, and the first Special Recognition Award in Pediatric Neuroradiology from the American Society for Pediatric Radiology; the annual James Bull Medal of the British Society of Neuroradiologists; the Gold Medal of the Sociedad Ibero-latinoamericana de Neurorradiolgia; and the Gold Medal of the American Society of Neuroradiology.

For his teaching, Dr. Naidich has been awarded Honorary Professorship at the Institute of Neurology, Queen Square, London and Honorary Membership in the British Society of Neuroradiologists, the European Society of Neuroradiology and many Latin American Societies of Neuroradiology. He has been named Master Educator and Best Teacher of the Year by the Mount Sinai Medical Center, and has received the Bucy Award for Excellence in Neurosurgical Teaching.  He has been named a Best Doctor in America for 18 consecutive years.
