Vania Nosé, MD, PhD is Associate Chief of Anatomic and Molecular Pathology and Director of Surgical Pathology at Massachusetts General Hospital; and Professor of Pathology, Harvard Medical School. She is the author of Diagnostic Pathology: Endocrine, 2nd Edition.

 

Dr. Nosé received her medical degree from State University of Campinas School of Medical Sciences and her PhD from Federal University of Sao Paulo. She performed residencies at Boston Children’s Hospital, Boston Medical Center, New England Deaconess Hospital, and Rhode Island Hospital/Lifespan. She is board certified in Clinical Pathology and Anatomic Pathology.

 

Dr. Nosé specializes in endocrine pathology, and has served as a consultant for difficult endocrine pathology cases locally, regionally, and internationally.  She has published extensively on endocrine pathology, tumor pathology, and molecular aspects of neoplasia with over 150 peer-reviewed articles. Dr. Nosé has described the pathological classification of familial thyroid tumors, inherited tumor syndromes, as well as the pituitary pathology synoptic reporting. She is the author of the CAP endocrine pathology competencies, has served on the editorial boards of numerous pathology journals, and is a past President of the Endocrine Pathology Society.
