The book’s primary audience is those training in cardiothoracic surgery, but this book is still an invaluable reference for practicing attending surgeons as well. The editors and authors are some of the most experienced and most highly regarded physicians in the field.
Features
The best aspect of this book is the completeness of the material. While these are large volume works, it is great to have nearly everything in the field of cardiothoracic surgery in one standardized source. Useful for both training purposes and board preparation, it is also a key resource for practicing surgeons. The ebook offering and selected videos are innovative additions to this text that enhance the understanding of the topics.
Assessment
It is easy to review such an important book in our field. Without a doubt, this book belongs on the bookshelf of every cardiothoracic surgeon. Although previous editions of this book were excellent, this newest edition offers the most up to date information on the surgical management of cardiothoracic disease.
