News & Articles > Dr. Ron Walls and BWH: Treating victims of the Boston Marathon bombing

Dr. Ron Walls, Chief of Emergency Services at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, talks with NBC News about the hospital’s response to the bombing at the Boston Marathon and what is being done to treat those who are wounded. While hospitals can never fully be prepared for a horrific event such as this, Dr. Walls feels that the training and drills done at Brigham & Women’s Hospital and across the city of Boston enabled them to have a quick response.

“We have worked a lot on drilling these exact kind of events, not just within our level one trauma center here at Brigham & Women’s but city wide. We have done a lot of work getting ready for something we hoped would never happen.” says Walls.
