This is an excellent update of the previous edition with a number of new authors and updated references. It is not a complete book on neonatal pulmonary medicine, although the lung development section is one of the best in the neonatal literature. MORE

Although it covers a wide breadth of pulmonary pathological diagnoses, the text and images, including pictures and tables, are equally balanced. This is a first-class resource for both residents and fellows during previewing and is a worthwhile book for attending pathologists to use during sign-out. This book is fairly unique in this field in that it provides a comprehensive picture of both basic immunology and the immune system in human health and disease. Most basic immunology books are very detailed in the basic immunology that they cover, but are very thin on clinical content. The rapid pace of discovery in immunology, along with the recent development of interventions that target or use the immune response in clinical medicine, makes this update necessary.   MORE
