With over three decades of tried and true results, the author continues his “honest” efforts, in updating the first edition of a comprehensive facial cosmetic book. This edition includes access to an accompanying website.

The book will appeal to surgeons dealing with cosmetic surgery of the face, both novices and the more proficient. The author displays his thoughtful and disciplined approach garnered through his vast experience.

Features

The book begins with an easy to use organizational outline of content and videos available on the website. High quality photographs and illustrations support the text from cover to cover. A plethora of experienced contributors offer commentary at the ends of some chapters. However, the book is directed through the personal lens of the author. He offers advice regarding patient safety, technical subtleties, alternatives to surgical and nonsurgical approaches, along with his personal perspectives regarding patient care. He honestly addresses undesirable complications that may occur. The first chapter, on the aging face, discusses how to evaluate and understand its various components. The book then discusses surgical interventions such as facelifts, brow and forehead lifts, contouring of the lids, nose, and ears, facial implants, cervicofacial fat management, and lip surgery. This is followed by discussions of nonsurgical procedures, neurotoxins, and injectable fillers, along with skin care and resurfacing measures.

Assessment

Those who wish a book that will instruct in cosmetic facial diagnosis, surgery, and postoperative care will find this one useful for patient care. This is a superb addition to one’s bookshelf.
