The other sections cover infectious diseases of the lungs, pulmonary disease in the intensive care unit, asthma, cystic fibrosis, interstitial lung disease, aerodigestive disorders, and miscellaneous disorders including thromboembolism, immunodeficiency, pleural disease, chest wall and muscle disorders, etc.
Chapters are detailed, with illustrations, flowcharts, tables and pictures to enhance the learning process. The pictures are of high quality and the text is subdivided into multiple sections to enhance readability.
Assessment
Overall, this is a very comprehensive and well-written book on pediatric pulmonology. It would be immensely useful to trainees and practitioners in this field, and its utility is hugely enhanced by the access to the online version with supplementary materials. In the rapidly evolving field of pulmonology, this new edition is justified.
