This book, now in its 10th edition, is one of the foundational texts in internal medicine. The previous edition was published in 2016.

This book continues to codify the recent evidence-based medical literature defining the standard of medical care in the United States.

Features
This book is divided into 19 sections covering the traditional organ systems and augmented with sections on geriatrics, alcohol and substance use, women’s health, men’s health, and palliative care. Each section has individual chapters specific to the section, such as disorders of mineral metabolism, principles of cancer therapy, neuromuscular junction disease, and preoperative and perioperative care. Each chapter begins with normal anatomy and physiology followed by a review of specific topics relevant to the section and chapter. The text is supported by extensive figures and tables with full-color photos and microphotographs characteristic of the disorder. The imaging studies are outstanding in their detail and clarity.
