This is the fifth edition of a pediatrics study companion for undergraduate medical students in U.K. programs, but it is a useful and practical review book for medical students in general. The website is an ebook version with additional features. The previous edition was published in 2015.

The book begins with the approach to the history and physical examination of the pediatric patient, followed by investigation or diagnostic evaluation principles. It then proceeds by systems. The hints and tips, features, and chapter summaries are excellent. It is also a colorful and enjoyable read.

Assessment

This is a well-presented crash course in pediatrics for undergraduate medical students in the U.K. I found it easy to read and review, with the hints and tips, red flags, features, and chapter summaries being especially helpful. The ebook is easy to navigate and the hyperlinks provide ready access to additional references.
