The purpose of the book is to discuss the molecular mechanisms behind liver conditions, as well as the diagnostic aspects of liver pathology.

The book is divided into 15 chapters. The first chapter provides an overview of the pathophysiology of liver disease and describes the function of cell types and liver anatomy.
