Description 

This book provides a comprehensive and updated review of liver pathology. This eighth edition updates the previous version, published in 2017, with the latest TNM staging, WHO classification, and advances in molecular testing. 

Purpose 

The purpose of the book is to discuss the molecular mechanisms behind liver conditions, as well as the diagnostic aspects of liver pathology. 

Audience 

The book targets pathologists and trainees who want to learn the relevant clinical and histologic features of liver diseases, as well as the pathophysiology underlying liver conditions. 

Features 

The book is divided into 15 chapters. The first chapter provides an overview of the pathophysiology of liver disease and describes the function of cell types and liver anatomy. It also discusses liver fibrosis and its pathogenesis. The second chapter focuses on techniques for evaluating liver disease, including immunohistochemistry and molecular techniques. The remaining chapters are dedicated to liver pathology, including medical and non-medical diseases. Each chapter contains high-quality images of gross findings, histologic features, immunohistochemical staining patterns, and electron microscopy. The book also includes many useful figures that depict cellular mechanisms and corresponding radiologic findings, as well as tables summarizing key facts with references.

This incredibly comprehensive book will provide readers with a basic understanding of liver diseases and how to diagnose them. It not only covers pathology but also details the corresponding clinical background and radiology. The book is ideal for pathologists and trainees interested in learning pathology and pathophysiology, clinical correlation, and radiologic correlation of various liver disease entities.
