This a comprehensive book on the full clinical spectrum of coronary artery disease. As a companion to Braunwald’s Heart Disease, it provides an extensive and evidence-based discussion of prevention, diagnosis, and therapeutic management of coronary artery disease.

This aim is to provide clinicians and researchers in-depth understanding of coronary artery disease, including risk factors, pathogenesis, and all available diagnostic modalities and treatment options.

The audience is all clinical practitioners and researchers involved in the diagnosis and care of patients with coronary artery disease, specifically cardiovascular disease specialists.

The book is divided into five sections, with the first an introduction reviewing the epidemiology of coronary artery disease. This is followed by sections on pathogenesis, clinical evaluation, management, and prevention. The clinical evaluation section has individual chapters on each available noninvasive and invasive modality for evaluating coronary artery disease. The section on management is particularly thorough, including risk assessment, medical therapy, both established therapies and new investigational agents, and revascularization strategies as well as management approaches to special patient populations.

This is a valuable resource for everyday use for clinicians caring for patients across the full spectrum of coronary artery disease. It is a practical guide to diagnosis, management, and prevention of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease.
