It has been close to five years since the previous edition and this update has been eagerly anticipated.

As the title indicates, this book provides the necessary basic knowledge to understand current principles of medical genetics. It is intended as a teaching tool and guide for basic courses in medical genetics. The authors aim to update the fast-changing information in medical genetics in a simple and accessible format for the medical and genetics students. Their objectives are well met and surpass readers’ expectations.
