This book provides detailed guidance on establishing a maternal cardiac care program. The contributing authors are a multidisciplinary group of experts in treating this high-risk patient population with a team approach. 

Features  

This book is divided into eight parts, and each contains multiple chapters. The first part of the book reviews normal pregnancy, focusing on cardiac physiological changes. Part two focuses on providing care for pregnant patients with heart disease, and includes recommendations on counseling patients, as well as explanations of cardiac conditions that affect pregnancy, obstetric events that affect cardiac patients, and management of specific cardiac conditions during pregnancy. Part three explores specific cardiac conditions encountered in pregnant women, such as endocarditis and fetal tachycardia.
