Description

This book is a learning resource for those interested in neurology, or on rotation in neurology. The layout and design of the book make it a quick and easy read to understand the different concepts and diseases seen in the field.

Purpose

The book meets its purpose by teaching different topics in neurology. The content is easy to read which enables readers to understand the material.

Audience

The book targets a wide array of audiences; readers do not need to be neurologists to understand the material. Owing to the organization of topics and descriptions of various neurological pathologies, the book is easy for readers to follow. I have shared this book with my third-year medical students, who enjoyed reading it and grasped the material in a timely manner.

Features

The book provides a concise, clear, and well-developed understanding of concepts in neurology. It covers localization by anatomy and dysfunction; these sections provide crucial input on the types of consultations medical providers receive, as well as questions to ask on how to approach these cases. The font and size of the text make it easy to follow, and the terms can be easily understood by those who do not have a neurological background. I really appreciate how the book is structured, as well as the case-based discussions and tables.

Assessment

This book is by far one of the best texts I have read as a neurology resident. It provides clear and concise explanations while enabling me to solidify my learning and find the information I need quickly, especially during the hectic schedule that comes with residency. Compared to a larger text, this book provides all the materials readers will need, in half the length and time. I have shared this book with internal medicine residents who rotate through neurology, and all of them unanimously agree that it is a must-have for any neurological rotation.
