Adam W. M. Mitchell, MB, BS, FRCS, FRCR, is a consultant radiologist at Chelsea & Westminster Hospital and Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer at Imperial College, University of London. He is a co-author of Gray’s Basic Anatomy; Gray’s Anatomy for Students, 2nd Edition; Gray’s Anatomy for Students Flash Cards, 2nd Edition; Gray’s Atlas of Anatomy; and Dorland’s/Gray’s Pocket Atlas of Anatomy; and the author of Grainger & Allison’s Diagnostic Radiology, 4th Edition.
Dr. Mitchell specializes in musculoskeletal imaging, with particular expertise in sports injury. He is radiologist to several Premiership football teams in London, the England rugby team and rugby union clubs, with professional cricket teams and to athletes from across the UK. He provided radiological imaging services for a number of athletes at the Beijing 2008 Olympics and was also one of the Olympic 2012 doctors. In addition, Dr. Mitchell is a lecturer and teacher on regional, national and international courses in radiology, sports and exercise medicine, rheumatology, and orthopaedics.
Dr. Mitchell is a member of the Royal College of Radiologists, Royal College of Surgeons, Radiology Visiting Club, and British Society of Musculoskeletal Radiologists.
