Andrew H. Kaye, MD serves as Director and Professor of Neurosurgery and James Stewart Professor of Surgery at the University of Melbourne, and Director of the Melbourne Neuroscience Centre, The Royal Melbourne Hospital. He holds particular research interest in the mechanisms of brain tumor cell invasion, intracellular signaling, and development of gene therapy treatment programs. He is an author of the Elsevier publication Brain Tumors, 3rd Edition.
Dr. Kaye completed much of his medical education in Melbourne, Australia. He spent time at Radcliffe Infirmary in Oxford, which he followed up with time in London where he conducted research in the Institute of Neurology at Queens Square. He joined the Royal Melbourne Hospital upon his return to Australia, and continued work as a researcher and educator. Dr. Kaye was the founding Editor in Chief of the Journal of Clinical Neuroscience. He is Chairman of the royal Australasian College of Surgeons Board of Neurosurgery, and is an Examiner in Neurosurgery.
