Andrew B. Symons, MD, MS is Assistant Professor and Vice Chair for Medical Student Education in the Department of Family Medicine at the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, and a family physician at UB Family Medicine. He is a co-author of Differential Diagnosis of Common Complaints, 6th Edition.
Dr. Symons received his MD from the University at Buffalo, an MPhil in biology from City University of New York, and an MS in environmental studies from Long Island University. He has an active family medicine practice, has given numerous presentations, authored journal articles, served on many educational committees, and teaches music at several local synagogues as his schedule permits. Dr. Symons’ research areas of interest include medical education, non-operative obstetrics, inpatient and outpatient primary care, and screening colonoscopy.
Among his many awards and honors, Dr. Symons has been recognized by the UB Salute to Authors, Business First Buffalo Healthcare 50, the University of Buffalo Department of Family Medicine Chairman’s Award for Research, and the American Academy of Family Physicians.
