David G. Disler, MD is an associate clinical professor of radiology at Virginia Commonwealth University Medical College of Virginia in Richmond. He is on staff at the Commonwealth Radiology practice in Richmond as well as a co-author of Musculoskeletal Imaging, 4th Edition, a title in the Requisites in Radiology series.
Board certified in diagnostic radiology, Dr. Disler has been named one of America’s Top Physicians. A fellow of the American College of Radiology, he serves on the society’s Musculoskeletal Imaging Committee and its Board Examination Committee. He also holds memberships in the International Skeletal Society and Society of Skeletal Radiology.
Dr. Disler has special expertise in arthroscopy, bone cancer, and joint diseases. His interests include articular cartilage imaging, musculoskeletal tumor imaging, and musculoskeletal interventions including radiofrequency ablation.
After earning his MD from Harvard Medical School in 1988, Dr. Disler completed an internal medicine internship at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston. He performed a residency in diagnostic radiology, and a fellowship in musculoskeletal imaging, at Massachusetts General Hospital, graduating in 1993.
Dr. Disler has contributed to over 40 publications on bone and joint imaging. In addition, he has been a guest editor for Radiological Clinics of North America, and serves on the editorial board of several journals in the field. He has traveled extensively as a guest lecturer and visiting professor.
