David G. Nichols, MD is Professor of Anesthesiology/Critical Care Medicine and Pediatrics and Vice Dean for Education at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. His research has a focus on the outcome of critical illness in children and pediatric critical care outcomes. He has authored dozens of journal articles and textbooks and is editor of Golden Hour: The Handbook for Advanced Pediatric Life Support, 3rd Edition, a volume in the Mobile Medicine series.

Dr. Nichols completed a BA in molecular biophysics and biochemistry at Yale University and an MD with honors at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York. He completed pediatrics, critical care and anesthesiology residencies and fellowship training at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. He is board certified in Pediatrics, Pediatric Critical Care, and Anesthesiology. Beyond his medical and scientific education, Nichols holds an MBA from Johns Hopkins.

Dr. Nichols was recently appointed to the Board of Directors of American Board of Pediatrics, and he is recipient of the American Academy of Pediatrics section on Critical Care Medicine’s Distinguished Career Achievement Award.
