Dirk F. Richter, MD is Director and Chief of the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Dreifaltigkeits-Hospital in Wesseling, Germany. He is a co-author of Body Contouring and Liposuction.
Board certified in plastic surgery, Dr. Richter received his specialty training in part at the Clinica Ivo Pitanguy in Brazil, the Haubrichhof Clinic in Cologne, and the Dreifaltigkeits-Hospital in Wesseling, Germany. His primary focus is in body-contouring surgery after massive weight loss, face and periorbital rejuvenation with revision cosmetic surgery, and the treatment of patients with endocrine orbitopathy resulting from Graves disease.
Dr. Richter’s expertise as a plastic surgeon is recognized both nationally and internationally. He is a member of the German Society of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons; an international active member of the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery; on the editorial board of Plastic Surgery Pulse News; and currently a member of the Board of Directors of the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.
Over the past five years, Dr. Richter has received many national and international invitations around the world to lecture at premier medical conferences in the fields of body contouring, breast surgery, and periorbital rejuvenation. He has authored several book chapters and published multiple scientific articles. Dr. Richter is also involved in the field of breast cancer and wound-healing research with multiple co-authorships in highly regarded research journals.
