Donald B. Doty, MD is a cardiovascular and thoracic surgeon at Intermountain Medical Center in Salt Lake City. He is a member of the Intermountain Medical Group and is an adjunct associate professor of surgery at the University of Utah. He has published 42 papers and holds a position on the editorial board of CTSnet.  He is an editor of the book Cardiac Surgery, 2nd Edition.

Dr. Doty graduated summa cum laude from Georgetown University School of Medicine and completed residencies in general surgery and cardiothoracic surgery the Johns Hopkins Hospital. His research and academic interests include surgical education and teaching, electronic and Internet-based learning, and clinical outcomes of cardiac surgery.
