Dorothea Wild, MD, MPH is the associate director of the Combined Internal Medicine/Preventive Medicine Residency Program at Griffin Hospital in Derby, Connecticut. She is also the co-director of the Griffin Stroke Center, and lecturer at the Department for Health Policy and Management of the Yale School of Medicine. She is a co-author of Jekel’s Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Preventive Medicine, and Public Health, 4th Edition.
Board certified in internal medicine and public health/general preventive medicine, Dr. Wild earned her medical degree at Universitaet Witten-Herdecke Medizinische Fakultaet in Germany in 1998. Her residency was a combined internal medicine/preventive medicine residency completed in 2003 at Griffin Hospital in Derby, Connecticut. She also holds a master’s degree in Public Health and Health Management from the Yale School of Public Health in New Haven, Connecticut.
Dr. Wild’s research activities lie primarily in the area of hospital quality improvement, medical errors, and disease modeling. Her current work focuses on the cost-effectiveness of screening for isocyanate-induced asthma; equity in the allocation of HIV monies; medical error reporting; and the effectiveness of screening for noise-induced hearing loss.
