Dr.S. Terry Canale, MD - an Elsevier Author Terry Canale, a widely respected orthopaedic surgeon, is the lead author of Campbell’s Operative Orthopaedics, 12th edition, which is due to publish in the beginning of December. Dr. Canale has made great strides with the new edition of this 4-volume text, expanding on the use of digital content and turning it into much more than just a traditional book.

What’s new in Campbell’s Operative Orthopaedics, 12th Edition? There is an excellent chapter in Campbell’s Operative Orthopaedics, 12th Edition on MRI, which I think has been one of the outstanding inventions during my career.  Other new areas in the text include femoro-acetabular dysplasia and new treatments for Dupuytren’s contracture. There are also excellent chapters on tumors, as well as a chapter on hip preservation, which includes reconstructive procedures for the hip and pelvis, and hip arthroscopy concerning labral tears…
