George V. Lawry, MD is the chief of the Division of Rheumatology at UC Irvine School of Medicine. He is a leading clinical educator, with particular interest in curriculum development and effective teaching practices. His clinical interests include Rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus, gout and crystalline arthritis, among others. He is an editor of the second edition of Fam’s Musculoskeletal Examination and Joint Injection Techniques.
Dr. Lawry is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in both internal medicine and rheumatology. He has been acknowledge by Castle Connolly as one of America’s Top Doctors, was a national finalist for the AAMC Humanism in Medicine Award, a nominee for the Alpha Omega Alpha Robert J. Glaser Distinguished Teacher Award, and received teaching excellence awards from the University of Iowa Collegiate Teaching Award.
