Giles W. Boland, MD is Professor of Radiology at Harvard Medical School and Vice Chairman of Radiology at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. He is the author of Gastrointestinal Imaging, 4th Edition, a volume in the bestselling Requisites in Radiology series.
Dr. Boland received his medical degree from the University of London and did his postgraduate work at Buchanan Hospital, Guy’s Hospital, London Hospital, Old Church Hospital, Royal East Sussex Hospital, and Waterbury Hospital Health Center. He is board certified in diagnostic radiology.
Dr. Boland’s areas of specialty include practice and workflow management, leadership, information technology (PACS, teleradiology, voice recognition, decision support) and development of new markets. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed articles on these topics and has conducted more than 60 presentations in over 15 countries on these issues. In his clinical practice, Dr. Boland has a particular expertise in abdominal imaging.
Dr. Boland is associate editor for the Journal of American College of Radiology (Practice Management) and for Radiology (Computed Tomography).
