Gregory T. MacLennan, MD, FRCS(C), FACS, FRCP(C) is a professor of pathology, urology, and oncology at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, University Hospitals Case Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio. He also serves as division chief of anatomic pathology, director of the Human Tissue Procurement Facility at University Hospitals of Cleveland, and director of the Tissue Procurement and Histology Core Facility of the Seidman Cancer Center. Dr. MacLennan is the author of Hinman’s Atlas of UroSurgical Anatomy, 2nd Edition. In addition, he co-authored Renal Tumors, An Issue of Clinics in Laboratory Medicine and Pathology for Urologists.
Dr. MacLennan earned his MD from the University of Manitoba, Canada, in 1971. He spent six years training in general surgery and urology at Manitoba Affiliated Teaching Hospitals, and followed this with a fellowship in urodynamics at St. Peter’s Hospitals in London, UK. Over the next ten years, Dr. MacLennan was a private practice urologist based in Grand Forks, North Dakota, and progressed from Clinical Instructor to Associate Professor of Surgery at the University of North Dakota School of Medicine. In 1989, he returned to Manitoba Affiliated Teaching Hospitals to perform residency and fellowship training in anatomic pathology and cytopathology. Dr. MacLennan then completed an additional fellowship in surgical and genitourinary pathology at the Mayo Clinic.
Board certified in urology and anatomic pathology in both the US and Canada, Dr. MacLennan has an additional board certification in cytopathology. He is the author of numerous peer-reviewed articles and book chapters.
