James B. Eisenkraft, MD, MRCP(UK), FFARCS is Professor of Anesthesiology and Vice-chair for Academic Development at Mount Sinai School of Medicine at New York University. He is the co-author of Anesthesia Equipment, 2nd Edition.
Dr. Eisenkraft received his medical degree from St Thomas’ Hospital Medical School at the University of London, and performed a surgery internship as St. Thomas’ Hospital. After completing residencies in anesthesiology and internal medicine, he performed a fellowship in anesthesiology at Mount Sinai Hospital. Dr. Eisenkraft is board certified in anesthesiology, a member of the Royal Colleges of Physicians of the United Kingdom, a Fellow of the Faculty of Anesthetists of the Royal College of Surgeons of England, a Diplomate of The American Board of Anesthesiology, Inc., a Fellow in Anesthesiology of The American College of Anesthesiologists, and a Fellow of the Royal College of Anesthetists, United Kingdom.
The recipient of numerous awards for both research and teaching, Dr. Eisenkraft is also Editor-in-Chief of Anesthesia File Journal Abstracts and an annual featured speaker at the Dannemiller Anesthesiology Review Course.
Dr. Eisenkraft’s special areas of interest include anesthesia equipment, monitoring equipment and patient safety; orthopaedic, regional, neurosurgical, and thoracic anesthesia; neuromuscular blockade and myasthenia gravis; and education in anesthesia.
