Jay H. Krachmer, MD is Former Professor and Chair of the Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Minnesota, where his primary research areas of interest are corneal and external diseases. Dr. Krachmer is well renowned in the field, and has received the Society of Heed Fellows Award, the R. Townley Paton Award, the Castroviejo Medal from the Cornea Society, the Helen Keller Sight Award, and the Claes Dohlman National Cornea Teaching Award.

Dr. Krachmer is an author of the two-volume set, Cornea, 3rd Edition and the second edition of Cornea Atlas.
