J. P. Mohr, MD, MS, is the director of the Doris and Stanley Tananbaum Stroke Center at the College of Physicians and Surgeons, Columbia University.
Trained in pharmacology, neurology, and neuropathology, Dr. Mohr specializes in all aspects of strokes. He spent three years at the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research, and later founded the Stroke Service and NeuroIntensive Care Unit at Massachusetts General Hospital, as well as the Neurology Department at the University of South Alabama. He was the first officially recognized Daniel Sciarra Professor of Clinical Neurology in 1983.
Dr. Mohr is also the author or co-author of more than 234 medical publications, including the 5th Edition of Stroke: Pathophysiology, Diagnosis, and Management.
