J. Larry Jameson, MD, PhD is internationally acknowledged for his medical research, which has defined the genetic basis of more than a dozen different endocrine disorders. He is widely recognized as the standard bearer for molecular medicine in the field of endocrinology. Dr. Jameson has been named as Executive Vice President of the University of Pennsylvania Health System and Dean of Penn’s School of Medicine.
Dr. Jameson has authored more than 300 scientific health articles and chapters and is a former editor of the journal Endocrinology and past-president of the Endocrine Society. He is co-author of the two-volume reference text, Endocrinology, 6th Edition. He has been elected to the American Society of Clinical Investigation, the Association of American Physicians, the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and the Institute of Medicine of the National Academy of Sciences.
Dr. Jameson is the recipient of several distinguished awards, including the Oppenheimer and Koch Awards from the Endocrine Society, the Van Meter Award from the American Thyroid Association, and the Thomas G. Sheen Award from the American College of Surgeons.
