Joel A. Vilensky, PhD, serves as Professor of Anatomy and Cell Biology and Director at the Indiana University School of Medicine. A renowned researcher, he has published his work in scientific and clinical journals in the fields of back pain, knee reconstruction, and spinal cord injury, and is co-editor of the journal Clinical Anatomy. He is also is co-author of Netter’s Concise Radiologic Anatomy and author of Medical Imaging of Normal and Pathologic Anatomy.
Dr. Vilensky holds a bachelor’s in Anthropology from Michigan State University, a master of science in Biological Anthropology from University of Chicago, and a PhD in Biological Anthropology from the University of Wisconsin. Beyond his research interests listed above, he has particular interest in the history of neurology.
