John C. Spiegel, MD is a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences of Montefiore Medical Center at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City. He is also a clinical instructor at New York University School of Medicine. He is the co-author, with John M. Kenny, of Psychiatry Test Preparation and Review Manual, 2nd Edition.
In addition to his academic posts, Dr. Spiegel is a neurologist and psychiatrist in private practice in Manhasset, New York and New York City. His practice specialties are adolescent and adult psychopharmacology, general psychotherapy and headache management. He focuses on eclectic cognitive and dynamic therapies for individuals and couples. He is an expert in neuropsychopharmacology, particularly in areas of overlap between neurology and psychiatry such as headache, Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s dementia, and restless legs syndrome. Dr. Spiegel also treats depression, anxiety, PTSD, personality disorders, and ADHD.
Dr. Spiegel received his MD from the Universite Laval, Faculte De Medecine in Quebec, Canada in 1996. He performed an internship at Beth Israel Medical Center, followed by a residency at Montefiore Medical Center, Weiler Hospital, in 2001.
Dr. Spiegel is board certified in psychiatry and psychosomatic medicine, and has also received board training in neurology. He is a member of the American Academy of Neurology and the American Headache Society.
