Jonathan Fanaroff, MD, JD, is Associate Professor of Pediatrics at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in Cleveland. He is the co-director of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital and also serves as the director of the Rainbow Center for Pediatric Ethics. Dr. Fanaroff is the lead author of Klaus and Fanaroff’s Care of the High-Risk Neonate, 6th Edition.
Dr. Fanaroff earned his law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law and his medical degree from the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, where he was elected to the AOA Medical Honor Society. He completed his pediatric residency training followed by a fellowship in neonatal-perinatal medicine at Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital/University Hospitals Case Medical Center. During his second year of neonatology training, he commuted to Chicago and completed an ethics fellowship at the MacLean Center for Clinical Medical Ethics at the University of Chicago. Dr. Fanaroff is board certified in pediatrics and neonatal/perinatal medicine, and is listed as a Top Doctor by U.S. News & World Report.
Dr. Fanaroff’s clinical interests include bioethical issues, with a focus on education and ethics.
