Joshua Levine, MD is an assistant professor of neurology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and attending physician in the Department of Neurology and the Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care. He is also co-director of the Neurocritical Care Unit and Fellowship Program at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Levine specializes in the care of patients with severe nervous system injury, and conducts research in the use of advanced technology to monitor the brain for secondary injury and the role of inflammation and coagulation in the pathogenesis of delayed ischemic injury after subarachnoid hemorrhage. He is co-author of Monitoring in Neurocritical Care.
Following the completion of his MD at Harvard Medical School, Dr. Levine completed residencies at the University of Pennsylvania’s Department of Internal Medicine and the Department of Neurology, and was a fellow at Massachusetts General Hospital’s Department of Neurology. He is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and United Council for Neurologic Subspecialties.
