Julia R. Fielding, MD is Division Chief of Abdominal Imaging in the Department of Radiology at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine. She oversees ultrasound, computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging of the body, plain films of the abdomen and pelvis, and fluoroscopic studies.

Dr. Fielding is Board Certified in Diagnostic Radiology and is currently an examiner for the American Board of Radiology. She is an author of more than 50 scientific papers; her publications include the second edition of Genitourinary Imaging: Case Review Series and Gynecologic Imaging, a volume in the Expert Radiology Series. Dr. Fielding has received several grants funding research of the genitourinary system focusing on female urinary incontinence, prostate cancer and virtual cystoscopy.
