Keith R. Berend, MD serves as Director of the Division of Adult Reconstruction at Ohio State University. He is recognized as a co-developer of the Biomet Rapid Recovery Program. His clinical and research interests include muscle-sparing total hip arthroplasty, less-invasive total knee and partial knee arthroplasty, resurfacing hip replacement, knee arthroscopy, and rapid rehabilitation protocols for faster recovery after surgery.
Among Dr. Berend’s awards and recognitions, he has received the John N. Insall Traveling Fellowship, the International College of Surgeons Research Scholarship, the Eastern Orthopaedic Association Resident Research Award, and the Clinical Orthopaedic Society Resident/Fellow Research Award. He is a member of the Piedmont Orthopaedic Society and the International Society of Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery and Orthopaedic Sports Medicine, among other associations. He is a prolific author in the field and has served as guest editor of the Journal of Arthroplasty. He is an author of Partial Knee Arthroplasty: Techniques for Optimal Outcomes.
