Kenneth Rockwood, MD is professor of Geriatric Medicine and Kathryn Allen Weldon Professor of Alzheimer’s Research and chair of Alzheimer Research, Centre for Health Care of the Elderly, at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. He is staff physician, Department of Medicine, QEII Health Sciences Centre, Halifax. And he is the founder, president, and Chief Scientific Officer for DementiaGuide Inc., a web-based company.

Dr. Rockwood has practiced medicine for nearly 25 years. He has a degree in medicine from Memorial University in St. John’s, Newfoundland and he holds a Special Certificate in Internal Medicine. Dr. Rockwood is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada and he holds a Certificate of Special Competence in Geriatric Medicine from the Royal College of Physicians of Canada, as well as a Diploma in Geriatric Medicine from Dalhousie University. Dr. Rockwood is a senior researcher acting as a key collaborator and researcher lead on numerous studies in geriatric medicine. In addition to being a specialist in internal medicine and geriatric medicine, he also holds a Masters in Public Administration from Queen’s University, Ontario, and has formally provided policy advice at both the provincial and federal levels. He has published more than 200 scientific papers and six books and has received numerous awards for research, longstanding interest in clinical and epidemiological aspects of frailty, delirium, and dementia.

He is co-author of Brocklehurst’s Textbook of Geriatric Medicine and Gerontology, 7th Edition.
