Leanne Groban, MD is a professor of anesthesiology and cardiothoracic anesthesia at the Bowman Gray School of Medicine at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. At WFU, she is associated with the Hypertension and Vascular Research Center, the Sticht Center on Aging, and the Women’s Health Center of Excellence for Research, Leadership, and Education.
Dr. Groban is the author, with John F. Butterworth, IV, MD, of the TEE Pocket Manual. She is also the co-author of Conquer the PTE Exam.
Board certified in anesthesiology, Dr. Groban received her MD from the Medical College of Wisconsin in 1992. She performed an internship in anesthesiology at St. Luke’s Hospital, a residency at North Carolina Baptist Hospital, and a fellowship at the Wake Forest University School of Medicine in 1997. Dr. Groban also holds a BS and an MS from the University of Wisconsin.
Dr. Groban’s areas of clinical focus include cardiothoracic anesthesia, major vascular anesthesia, myocardial protection, cardiac aging, and diastolic dysfunction. She has authored numerous articles in the field.
