News & Articles > New Consulting Editor for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Clinics

Elsevier is proud to announce that Rui Fernandes, MD, DMD, FACS, FRCS (Ed), from the University of Florida in Jacksonville, has been named as the new Consulting Editor for the series Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Clinics and its companion, Atlas of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Clinics. Dr Fernandes is Professor & Chief, Division of Head and Neck Surgery, and has appointments in the Departments of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Neurosurgery, and Orthopedic Surgery. His specialties include head and neck microvascular surgery; head and neck surgical oncology; and oral and maxillofacial surgery.

Dr. Fernandes succeeds longtime Consulting Editor Dr. Richard Haug, who passed away in early 2018. Dr. Fernandes commented, “Dr. Haug’s dedication to this publication was evident to all of us who had the opportunity to work with him, as he set the standard for what the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Clinics is today. I am humbled to introduce myself as the new Consulting Editor of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Clinics, a recommendation made to the publisher by Rich prior to his untimely death this past year. I am excited and eager to take on this challenge. I look forward to working with future guest editors and contributing authors and will do my utmost to build upon the strong foundation that Dr. Haug has provided.”

Four times a year, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Clinics provides comprehensive coverage of oral and maxillofacial surgery through a review article format that uses detailed text, tables, algorithms, and clinical images and figures. Each issue is presented under the direction of an experienced guest editor and focuses on a single topic, including reconstructive surgery, implants, dentoalveolar surgery, cleft and craniofacial surgery, craniomaxillofacial trauma surgery, TMJ, and cosmetic surgery.
