Nicholas T. Kouchoukos, MD has had a lengthy, prestigious career, and has held numerous academic positions, hospital appointments, and has been a member of dozens of medical and academic societies. He is currently the Attending Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgeon at Missouri Baptist Medical Center. He is an active author and editor, and he has authored numerous chapters and journal articles, and co-authored the text Kirklin/Barratt-Boyes Cardiac Surgery, 4th Edition.

Among the numerous awards he has received for his work in the in the field, Dr. Kouchoukos recently received the Distinguished Scientist Award by the Bicuspid Aortic Foundation. He serves on numerous committees and review boards and currently sits on the board of directors for the Society of Thoracic Surgeons.
