Paul J. Turek, MD, FACS, FRSM, is Director of The Turek Clinic, a men’s health practice in San Francisco. He previously held the Academy of Medical Educators Endowed Chair in Urology Education and was Professor of Urology, Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences at University of California, San Francisco.
While at UCSF, he authored the National Medical Student Curriculum in Urology and founded PROGENI, the Program in the Genetics of Infertility. Dr. Turek has authored over 200 medical publications in genetic infertility, the stem cell basis for cancer and spermatogenesis, and men’s health epidemiology. He is also an author of the text The Netter Collection of Medical Illustrations: Reproductive System, 2nd Edition, a volume in the Netter Green Book Collection series. In addition, he has also published on several innovative and now popular surgical techniques in male reproductive science and is a noted microsurgeon.
Dr. Turek is an active member of the American Urological Association and the American Society of Andrology, and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, the Royal College of Physicians, and the Société Internationale d’Urologie.
