Ralph C. Budd, MD is a professor of medicine and Director of the Vermont Center for Immunology and Infectious Diseases at The University of Vermont College of Medicine in Burlington. He is the co-author of Kelley’s Textbook of Rheumatology, 9th Edition.
Dr. Budd is a fellow of the American College of Rheumatology and a member of the Arthritis Foundation. In 1990 he was the recipient of a Pew Scholars award.
Board certified in rheumatology and internal medicine, Dr. Budd has special expertise in autoimmune diseases, Lyme disease, rheumatic diseases, rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE,) and pediatric rheumatology. He has contributed to 80 professional publications.
Dr. Budd received his medical degree from Weill Cornell Medical College in 1977. He completed an internship in internal medicine at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center. He stayed on at Dartmouth-Hitchcock to perform a residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in rheumatology. Dr. Budd then completed an additional fellowship in rheumatology at Stanford University School of Medicine.
