Raymond M. Stein, MD, FRSCS is Medical Director of Bochner Eye Institute in Toronto; Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Toronto; Chief of the Department of Ophthalmology at Scarborough General Hospital in Scarborough, Ontario; and Cornea Consultant at the Mount Sinai Hospital. Dr. Stein is a co-author of The Ophthalmic Assistant, 9th Edition.
Dr. Stein began his career by completing a medical degree at the University of Toronto Medical School. He then performed an ophthalmology residency at the Mayo Clinic and a cornea and external diseases fellowship at the Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia.
As an esteemed global leader in refractive surgery, Dr. Stein has been honored with numerous awards from a variety of prestigious international medical organizations, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the International Intraocular Implant Club, and the Contact Lens Association of Ophthalmologists. Because of his commitment to advanced technologies and surgical excellence, Dr. Raymond Stein also served as the President of the Canadian Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.
Dr. Stein has been invited to lecture at numerous medical conferences and has authored various published journal and magazine articles, book chapters and books. He serves as the editor of the scientific journal, Clinical and Surgical Ophthalmology.
With more than 100,000 successful eye surgeries performed, Dr. Raymond Stein has established himself as an expert and pioneer of refractive and implant surgery. As a testament to his exceptional surgical talents, he was chosen to serve as the chief eye surgeon for the W Network’s Style by Jury.
